Working with Me
Well, it’s been almost 3.5 years since I posted my last blog. I don’t think I need to provide a recap here. 😆 I do think, however, that you deserve to pause right now and give yourself some praise for just making it through.
While I don’t intend to continue blogging on a regular basis (it’s just not the right time), I am leaving this refresher here for whoever is stopping by. So, welcome reader!
If you are ready to start therapy, and are wondering if I’m the right fit, here’s what I expect, and what YOU can expect from working with me:
In our sessions you’ll challenge yourself in a way that still feels safe/manageable, and you’ll engage in homework to enhance the work between our sessions (thought experiments, mini challenges, journaling, to name a few types of homework).
I am warm but direct. I am earnest but silly. Netflix tangents and ridiculous stories from your work week are welcomed, but I’ll be in charge of keeping us on track—don’t worry.
I am really good at pacing, as long as you are honest with me about how you’re feeling—and if anything is unclear to me, I will ask you.
I am a real person and I will share real life examples but I am also a well-boundaried person and I will not over-share.
I will take time to go over your history and get to know you before planning the path ahead (which looks different for everyone as you’ll see from my website).
I will always communicate to you how I see things and ask you to do the same.
And, as much as I adore my clients, my goal is always to “graduate” you and get you on your way when the timing is right.
